PlymouthSpeedway_April14_1Plymouth Speedway has been a busy place for the past couple of months with new grandstands, a new tower and major improvement to the two tracks.

The new grandstands come from Daytona Speedway and allow the fans a greater vantage point to watch the exciting action from a higher point of view.  Another nice thing is the seating are seats with chair backs, not bleachers.  Also added is an aluminum deck for fans who want to bring their own chairs and spread out a bit.

PlymouthSpeedway_April14_2Improvements to the two tracks include tons of new clay, in fact more than 150 loads.  The staff has built up the banking on the big track with wider corners and reconfigured the 600 track with more banking.

Many of the old familiar faces will be at the track this year but you will also see some new ones.  One of those is Denny Long who will serve as the flag man this year.   Long has a long history with racing and has been flagging go-cart races around the country for years.  Driver and spectators will see his experience the first time they are at the track.

PlymouthSpeedway_April14_3This Saturday drivers are invited to bring their cars out for Test and Tune.  Gates open at 3 and you will get on the track at 4.  Pit passes are $20.
