TransparencyLast week State Senator Randy Head commented on the state’s ranking for transparency.  He said, “Government transparency is vital, and taxpayers have a right to know how their money is allocated.”

Recently, Indiana was ranked among the highest-rated states in the nation in terms of government spending transparency, according to an annual U.S. Public Interest Research Group report.

Senator Head said, “Indiana’s high ranking is in large part a result of the Indiana Transparency Portal, which allows anyone to look into state government spending and operations, ranging from agency budgets to state contracts and agency performance measures.”

Indiana was one of five states to receive an “A-Plus” and one of just four to score a perfect 100 score in its grading system.
