PIC John Guyse 2016 volunteer of the year 2016Miller’s Merry Manor is pleased to announce that John Guyse who volunteers at Miller’s on a regular basis was announced as the 2016 Volunteer of the Year. The announcement was made at the REAL Services 2016 Age of Excellence Awards Luncheon held at South Bend’s Century Center in April.

Guyse was nominated by the staff of Miller’s Merry Manor where he volunteers. The Volunteer of the Year must be an individual, 60 years of age or older, who has displayed a commitment to volunteerism in service to the elderly”. Guyse certainly measures up to the requirements as he works a full-time job before he fills his free time with volunteering at Millers.

Guyse was surrounded by Miller’s staff and volunteers who broke into applause and loud cheers when his name was announced as award winner. They watched proudly as he walked to the center of the room and received his award from the key note speaker and fellow Hoosier – Jane Pauley.
