Indiana Conservation Officers are investigating a fatal snowmobile crash that occurred near the west side of Wanatah in LaPorte County. Jason Beecher 41 was found dead near a parked semi-tractor trailer located on Kaiser Farms property.
The investigation revealed Beecher struck the rear portion of the trailer at a high rate of speed. A thorough examination of the snowmobile by Conservation Officer Tyler Brock indicated there were no mechanical malfunctions to the sled.
The LaPorte County Coroner’s Office believed Beecher struck the trailer several hours prior to being located by a Kaiser employee.
Beecher was not wearing a helmet or any additional safety equipment at the time of the crash. The incident is still under investigation by Conservation Officers and the LaPorte County Coroner’s Office to determine why Beecher traveled into the parked trailer.
