JACKSON, MI – The Ancilla College softball team picked up two wins in Michigan Community College Athletic Association (MCCAA) Western Conference action at Jackson College by scores of 2-1 and 13-8.

In the first game of the day, Abbey Renner threw a complete game, allowing a solo home run in the second, but holding the Jets to just four hits while striking out ten. Brittany Probasco notched an RBI single in the third, while Lauren Prohl picked up the game winning RBI with a double in the fourth. Prohl finished the game 2-3.

The second game saw Prohl earn her tenth win of the season, scattering nine hits in four innings of work while striking out four and allowing no earned runs. Renner grabbed her second save of the season with three innings of work, allowing three runs and striking out three. The Chargers were two strikes away from finishing the game in the fifth inning by the eight run rule, but the tough-minded Jets had other plans, rallying for three runs in the bottom of the fifth to earn two more innings of at bats. Maggie Birch, Tehya Henry, and Prohl all had three hits for Ancilla. Brooke Stout and Renner added two hits each. Birch and Prohl racked up four RBI and Henry added three RBI of her own.

Ancilla travels to MCCAA West second place team, Kalamazoo Valley Community College today for a 3:00 p.m. double header.
