DONALDSON, IN – The Ancilla women’s basketball team advances to 13-5 after they captured the win over Glen Oaks Community College at home Saturday, 70-66.

In the game that saw constant back and forth action from both teams, Teshylia Peters went three for five from the three point line and Ashley Quezaire was five for seven from the three. Khadijah Moore had an outstanding performance, going 50% from the field for 29 points, nine rebounds, three assists and two blocks. Quezaire put up 12 points and the Chargers had 18 offensive rebounds between four players; Moore, Michelle Detwiler, Alexsis Miller and Daitriona Bonds.

“Glen Oak’s game plan seemed to be to sit in their 2-3 zone and dare us to shoot the three,” said Coach Tom Robbins. “We had several players who struggled shooting the ball from three which made the approach affective. However at two points in the game, we had a player knock down several threes in a row which gave us big runs. These runs combined with the sustained effort of Khadijah Moore, who had a monster game, ultimately led to the victory. Teshylia Peters gave us the first run by knocking down threes in the first quarter which gave us a lead we would never relinquish. Ashley Quezaire gave us the second run by knocking down threes in the second quarter which led to a ten point lead, which we were able to milk the rest of the game.”

The Lady Chargers will be on the road Wednesday at Muskegon Community College. Game time is set for 5:30p.m. The team will return home on Monday, January 25th to take on Jackson College. Game time is scheduled for 5:30p.m.
