The freshman  Lady Pilgrims fell short in their attempt to capture the NLC Tournament Championship at Wawasee Saturday.  Defeating rival Warsaw 44-32, and losing the Championship game to Northridge 34-10.

 

In the opener it was all Kristen Davidson, hitting 7 shots from beyond the arch, and a game high 21 points.  Kelsey Owen added 6, with Mary Beatty & Loren Mattern chipping in 5 each.  Kristen Brown and Kate Renneker completed the scoring with 2 apiece.  Cassidy Holiday added a fine floor game at the point position to help direct the Pilgrims to their second victory of the season over the Lady Tigers.

 

In the Championship Game, the Pilgrims were handed there second defeat of the season to the Lady Raiders of Northridge.  Trailing 10-2 after the 1st quarter, and 14-6 at the half, the Pilgrims still had hope in securing a victory.  The Lady Raiders left no questions to their undefeated season, by putting away the young pilgrims with an 18-4 second half surge.  Cassidy Holiday scored 4 points, with Mary Beatty, Kelsey Owen, and Kristen Brown adding 2 each.

 

The Lady Pilgrims will look to rebound in their final game of the season Monday night at the Rock.  Tip time is scheduled for6pm vs. South Bend Adams.  Current record stands at 9-3.
