Culver Marina’s history boat cruises take visitors on a unique, “up close and personal” journey through the history of Lake Maxinkuckee and the area with host Jeff Kenney, local historian.

A light meal with non-alcoholic beverages will be provided for all on the cruise, and a cooler is available for those wishing to bring their own alcoholic beverages.

The event is limited to 16 participants, with a 10-person minimum. The cruise will last approximately 90 minutes to two hours.

Those wishing to reserve seats may call Culver Marina at 574-842-3375 to make a reservation.  The cost of the cruise is $30 per person or $50 is food is served.

Cruise dates and times including the maximum number of guests are:

Fri., Aug. 19:   8 p.m. sunset dinner cruise (12)

Sun., Aug. 21:  11:30 a.m. brunch cruise (14)

Fri., Aug. 26:   7 p.m. 1890s on the lake dinner cruise (14)

 

The Culver Marina’s dinner boat cruises have become a staple of entertainment on the lake, and are also available for private rental (with or without historian) Thursdays through Sundays throughout the season.

 

Culver and Lake Maxinkuckee have a unique and storied history, from the story of the Potawatomi Indians to the notable literary and cultural figures who frequented and were inspired by the lake to the cherished traditions and famous graduates of Culver Academies, among topics explored on the cruise.
