buggy platesRevenues from the purchase of county buggy plates totaled $43,325 this year according to Lauri Baker from the County Highway Department.

Marshall County implemented a buggy plate ordinance late last year and it went into effect January 1st of this year. Buggies that are driven on roads are now required to be registered each year for a fee of $50. Each year owners will have from March 1st until May 31st to purchase their plates.

While the county had revenues of $43,325 expenses were $5,007.65 leaving a net total of $38,317 that will be placed in the County Highway Department for road work. Baker noted that expenses in 2017 will be less since they won’t have to purchase the plates. A tag, just like automobiles have will be issued.
