Police have released more information about a Bremen man who was killed over the weekend in a farming accident.
It happened at a farm on the 13000 block of Osborne Road around 11:30 a.m. Sunday.
Sixty-year-old Gary Schmeltz died from a severe traumatic injury.
St. Joseph County Deputy Coroner Nancy Pemberton says Schmeltz was killed after he was caught in a PTO behind a tractor while doing work on his father’s Wakarusa farm.
She says Schmeltz’s son found his father after the accident happened and called police.
