Sarber began work with the Prosecutor’s office on January 19, 2016 after being sworn in by the Hon. Dean A. Colvin of the Marshall County Superior Court No. 2.

Sarber, a lifelong Marshall County resident, went to Manchester University prior to undertaking his legal studies at Valparaiso University School of Law. Prior to accepting the position of Deputy Prosecuting Attorney, Sarber worked in private practice in Plymouth for over two years. While in private practice he served as a public defender for the courts of Marshall County, primarily representing criminal defendants.

When asked about the new position Sarber commented “The opportunity to serve the citizens of Marshall County was the key factor that led to my decision to leave private practice. Having strong family ties to this area makes me want to work hard to ensure Marshall County remains the safe place it always has been.”

Sarber will be handling the traffic, misdemeanor, and certain felony cases. Chipman stated “We are excited Matt has joined our team.  He will be an enthusiastic addition to our constant efforts to enhance public safety.”  The prosecutor’s office has three Deputy Prosecuting Attorneys, and together with Chipman, handles criminal cases, child support, and juvenile delinquency matters.
