ParkDepartmentThis week the Plymouth Park Board approved the annual agreement between the Park Department and the Yellow River Festival and the Farmers’ Market.

The agreement requires each entity to pay the City of Plymouth ten percent of the booth rental.

The board also granted permission to use the one mile course in Centennial Park on May 14th for a 5K color run/walk with proceeds benefiting Freedom Park, the all inclusive playground located in Packard Woods.

Washington Discovery Academy 3rd grade teacher, Lindsey Risner said the project based learning model gives students an authentic hands on looks at the real world.    This project titled “Dream in Color” will teach students how to look at challenging tasks with perseverance.

Students will work on all aspects of the project including marketing, creating the t-shirts along with training to participate in the race by doing daily exercise and weekly walking to track distance and progress.
