Plymouth Park Superintendent Mike Hite updated park board members on various projects during their meeting this week.
The tennis court project is moving along. The foundations for the lightening are started and the project appears to be on schedule. The Hoosier Old Wheels Shelter has a brand-new metal roof. Hite said they worked together trying to figure out how to fund the project and in the end the Hoosier Old Wheels paid for the whole thing themselves. Hite said the new roof looks great and should last for 30 to 40 years.
Hite said the Blueberry Festival was very busy thanks to the great weather. There were only a few minor repairs that need to be addressed. He said, “The festival came off without a hitch this year.”
Works continues on the 2017 budget with the mayor and clerk treasurer. He is also meeting with the LARE Representative on the DNR study grant in the amount of $50,000 for bank stabilization and a canoe launch. The study will be completed next year with hopes that another LARE grant can be obtained to assist with the project.
