The Plymouth High School Band Boosters and Hacienda presented 2015 PHS Graduate Melissa Johnson’s family with a check for nearly $2,500 Thursday night at the Plymouth Mexican Restaurant.
The two groups partnered and raised just under $2,500 for Johnson’s family to help offset the cost of medical expenses for the care of their 19-year-old daughter who was severely injured after a car accident back in December.
The accident has left Melissa with a traumatic brain injury.
Johnson participated in band all four years while she attended Plymouth High School. She worked part-time at the Plymouth Hacienda as a hostess as she was studying special education at IUSB.
On February 2nd from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., the Plymouth Hacienda donated 20% of all sales to Melissa’s family when patrons presented a Hacienda Gives Back coupon in her honor.
Management at Hacienda said this was the largest-ever “give back” event hosted by their Plymouth location.
