Ten PHS football players volunteered their time on Tuesday, July 19th to spend time with the residents during their July birthday party. There were nine Freshmen and one Senior players who participated.

The young men went door to door inviting the residents to attend the birthday party. Before the party began the football players introduced themselves and told what position they held on the team. The boys then took cake and ice cream to the July birthday people which were Marvoline Lowry and Ross Cramer. After singing “Happy Birthday” the team members then served the rest of the party guests.

After making sure everyone was served the young men sat with the residents and visited about football and many other topics. Milan Levett asked to no one in particular, “What kind of season are you going to have?”

Without missing a beat Joseph Styres replied, “A successful one!” There was an immediate round of applause for his answer.

Upon cleaning up from the party the boys spent the rest of their volunteer time cleaning the inside of the fourteen passenger bus used to transport residents to various outings. Activity Director Cindy Flagg thanked the boys for their service and kindness to the residents. These young men will return to Miller’s Assisted Living on July 27th when they will play BINGO with the residents!
