PHS_Girls_Tennis_SmashCancer2016_1Senior Leticia Torres representing the Plymouth High School Tennis Team held a special check presentation on Thursday and announced that the PHS Girls Tennis Team raised $1,700 at their third annual Smash Cancer tennis match earlier this year.

She was excited to note that all of this year’s proceeds are going to fellow classmate Trey Metheny, a 17-year-old junior at PHS who is battling thyroid cancer.

PHS_Girls_Tennis_SmashCancer2016_3 On April 13, 2016, the PHS Girls Tennis Team took on Bremen High School at the annual Smash Cancer match. Both teams participated in the Smash Cancer event and wore different colored shirts, which represented different types of cancer that have personally touched them or their families/friends.
Through the purchase of the t-shirts and obtaining several sponsors, the girls were able to raise the funds.

PHS_Girls_Tennis_SmashCancer2016_2The PHS Girls Tennis Team would like to thank everyone who purchased a t-shirt and/or supported this year’s Smash Cancer event.
