Plymouth High School is ranked the 15th Best High School in the state according to U.S. News & World Report’s 2016 Best Indiana High Schools list.
U.S. News & World Report ranks top-performing public schools at both the state level and national level each year. The 2016 rankings include data on more than 21,150 public high schools across the country. The Best High Schools rankings evaluate high schools data to identify which schools are best at preparing students for college and careers. U.S. News differentiates high schools with gold, silver, and bronze medals, using gold medals to indicate the greatest level of college readiness. In this year’s edition of Best High Schools, 6,218 schools received medals.
Among Indiana schools in the 2016 U.S. News Best High Schools rankings, there are 46 silver medal schools, 78 bronze medal schools, and three gold medal schools.
Plymouth Community School Corporation is honored that Plymouth High School has ranked yet again the 15th Best High School in the state. The same distinctive honor our high school held last year in the U.S. News & World Report’s 2015 Best Indiana High Schools rankings.
This is the fifth time Plymouth High School has landed in the spotlight on the U.S. News & World Report. To be precise, this is the fifth time in the last eight years that PHS has made the Best Indiana High School list. This is the fourth time Plymouth High has received a Silver Medal.
· 2016 PHS – 15th Best High School in the state – Silver Medal
· 2015 PHS – 15th Best High School in the state – Silver Medal
· 2014 PHS – 12th Best High School in the state – Silver Medal
· 2013 PHS – 26th Best High School in the state – Silver Medal
· 2010 PHS received a Bronze Medal
U.S. News and World Report uses data on a number of factors, to determine their rankings including enrollment; graduation rates; diversity; participation in free and reduced-price lunch programs; and the results of state assessments, Advanced Placement® and International Baccalaureate tests. Combined with assessment of the degree to which the school prepares students for college-level work.
