PHS_Band_2016_1The Plymouth High School “Pride of Plymouth” Marching Band attended the Indiana State School Music Association’s Scholastic Tournament this past weekend at Homestead High School in Ft. Wayne. This is similar to “Sectionals” for athletics. The band earned a Gold Award rating and special “With Distinction” awards in all three categories: music, visual, and effect.

The band will now compete this weekend at Chesterton High School at the Indiana State School Music Association (ISSMA) Regional contest where the top ten schools will advance to Semi-State to compete on October 22, 2016.

Pride of Plymouth fans are invited to celebrate the week of ISSMA Regional Competition, with a community performance at 8:45 p.m. this evening at the end of their rehearsal.

Band Director Bryan Ames said, “This will also be our traditional ‘Flashlight Parade’ night so everyone should bring a flashlight or any light-up device that can be used to form a flashlight cheer tunnel to lead the band back to the school after practice.”
