The 5th annual Plymouth High School Riley Dance Marathon took place this past Saturday in the high school cafeteria from noon to 7 p.m. Hundreds of PHS students stood on their feet for the entire period to raise money for all the kids who physically cannot.

PHS_Riley Dance Marathon2016_1As a mini-marathon under Ball State University, the money Plymouth High School raised will help fund the Magic Castle Cart program at Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis as well as their Palliative Care Center.  Dance Marathon is a multi-hour, multi-faceted event that blends dancing, games, crafts, food, and fun into one philanthropic experience.

PHS_Riley Dance Marathon2016_3This year’s event concluded Saturday night at half time during the Boy’s Varsity Basketball game against Mishawaka.  PHS Dance Marathon students performed a special halftime dance.

In the first four years the students, staff, and community have donated more than $87,000 to the Riley Hospital for Children. This year’s goal was to surpass the $100,000 mark in donations and they did that by raising $29,306.44!
