Plymouth’s 1D team of Kendall Dreibelbis and McKenzie Scheetz won the Individual Doubles Regional on Saturday at LaPorte, which was later moved indoors to Northwest Athletic Club in Michigan City.
Kendall Dreibelbis (11) and McKenzie Scheetz (10), Plymouth, beat Haley Mergl (11) and Brittany Shebish (11), Portage, in three sets, 6-7 (6), 6-3, 6-2 in the first round Saturday. The match was started at LaPorte, but moved indoors to Michigan City’s Northwest Athletic Club due to weather, after the teams split sets. Portage finished their season with a 23-3 record.
Kendall Dreibelbis (11) and McKenzie Scheetz (10), Plymouth beat Jama Rice (11) and Kennedy Wiens (10), Northwood, in straight sets, 6-4, 6-3 in the final round Saturday at Northwest Athletic Club. Northwood finished their season with a 22-4 record.
Plymouth moves on to play in the Individual Doubles State Finals at Park Tudor High School next Friday, June 10, and Saturday June 11. Plymouth, 26-2 on the season, will most likely play a quarterfinal match at 2:00PM on Friday.
