IMG_2629Playing in their final home match of the 2016 season the Plymouth girls golf team dropped a hot, humid, and spirited match to Bremen on Wednesday at Pretty Lake Golf Club 192-202.

Senior night recognition started before tonight’s match with a reception following.  Many thanks to the gallery who came out to support the girls in the heat.  Our seniors Katie Johnson, Lauren Kolter, and Nicole Horvath have been dependable leaders for our team all season!
Medalist on the night was Lauren Kolter with a 43.  Katie Johnson carded a 50, Nicole Horvath a 56.  Rounding out the scoring we’re Julia Marohn 54 and Ally Dolan 55.  The Varsity record drops to 7-6.  Bremen is having their best season in quite sometime.  A single loss to powerhouse Penn is their only defeat; through tonight Bremen is 15-1.
The Plymouth JV defeated Bremen 215-250.  Brittany Klotz fired her career best round 50 to lead Plymouth.
Tonight’s match was originally scheduled to include Rochester.  Due to a student fatality all Rochester events we’re canceled for Wednesday.
The ladies are gearing up for a competitive weekend as we travel to McCormick Creek in Nappannee for the NLC tournament on Saturday.  We finished 5th in round robin play and look to improve our conference finish with a decent showing in the tournament.  Teams in 3rd through 6th place have average scores almost identical.  Placing Saturday will be very tight and will likely hinge on a handful of strokes.  With the exception of state ranking (honorable mention) Northwood, our conference is very evenly balanced – talent – ability – competitive.
