The Plymouth Varsity endured everything mother nature could throw their way today!  Competing in the Wawasee Invitational at South Shore on Saturday the boys finished 5th (329) out of 15 schools.  Low 40 temps with windy conditions at the start gave way to cold rain that shrouded the boys.  Today was a test of mental toughness.

Micah Calhoun showed poise and persistence leading the Pilgrims with a 75.  Micah went out in 37 and in 38.  The second nine 38 was impressive as the conditions became much more demanding on the second nine.  Micah finished 4th overall.
Hudson Yoder had his best ball striking round of the season firing a 40 on each nine for an 80.  As the conditions got tougher Hudson stayed strong and showed maturity and toughness bouncing back from each trouble spot.  Hudson’s high greens in regulation count lead to many birdie opportunities.
Colin Caine tied his season best performance with an 85.  Also tying his season best was Grant Clady with an 89.  Both guys suffered a couple specific trouble spots that inflated their scores.  Posting a best score in today’s conditions and grinding out a helping score was essential to our team placing.

I was proud of all the guys gritty efforts today!  Today’s 329 duplicated our season opening score from two weeks ago.  Like two weeks ago the only NLC foe to defeat us was Northridge, this time by a much closer margin.
The Plymouth JV was scheduled to play in the Lafayette Jeff Invitational however the tournament was called off due to bad weather.
Both squads are back in action Monday when they travel to Erskine in South Bend taking on SB Riley and LaPorte.
