Michael Simpson_Bottled waterOne local father from Plymouth has taken up the challenge of collecting bottled water for the children and adults of Flint Michigan.

Michael Simpson has been using social media and talking to local businesses in Plymouth and the surrounding areas hoping to get enough bottled water to fill a semi.  After watching the news and hearing about the families and citizens of Flint, Michigan and their loss of water from lead in their pipes, he wanted to help out.

At this point he has found several businesses who will offer goods or services to any customer who makes a donation of cased bottle water.  Hair Mechanics is offering a free haircut if you bring in 4 cases of bottled water and if you bring in one case of water to Mooney’s Ice you will get a single scoop of Hersey’s Ice cream in a cup or cone.  At Penguin Point in Plymouth, if you bring in a case of bottled water you will get a large drink or fries and Antique Motors will give you a deal on an in-stock vehicle for a water donation.

For those who just want to donate bottled water you can drop off in Plymouth at Antique Motors, 907 West Jefferson Street and in Argos at the Church of Jesus Christ, 208 West Marshall Street.

Simpson has even gotten LaVille Elementary to do a bottled water drive.
