PHS_Band_hotdogsThe Plymouth High School Music Department was recently recognized as a top music program in Indiana. The Indiana State School Music Association recognized Plymouth as one of the recipients of the “All-Department Award” for schools in which all of the departments in the music program (band, choir, and orchestra) all earn the “All-Music Award” for achieving all Gold Ratings at every ISSMA event.

Plymouth was one of only eleven schools in Indiana to earn this award for band and choir. Additionally, the PHS music department was one of only three schools in Indiana to earn the award with all three departments (band, choir, and orchestra) earning top recognition.

This was very exciting for our kids. We were one of only three schools in the state to earn the All-Music Award with all three departments of our music program. Our choir and orchestra earned this state award for the first time this year and helped us qualify for this. I am really proud of our vocal and orchestral students for raising the bar this year and striving to achieve this award,” said band director Bryan Ames. “The entire music department celebrated with a cook out during lunch last week and the music directors grilled outside for the kids. We all joined together to celebrate a very successful school year.”

Plymouth High School will receive a large banner to hang to recognize the achievements of the music department. Congratulations to all of the students in the band, choir and orchestra on a very successful school year!
