Plymouth Speedway_logo2014After setting a record with attendance last week with the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series and USAC Midget races, the staff at Plymouth Speedway is preparing for another night of great racing that will create another great crowd.

Rain caused the cancellation of the Swan Lake UMP Modifieds race last Friday.  As a result, the Swan Lake Resort UMP Modifieds feature will be made up this Saturday, May 21 in addition to a regular feature as part of the racing lineup set for the night.  Those drivers will be joined by the Shepherd Firearms Pro Sprints, WTCA Super Streets, Walmart Thunder Stocks and Dickies Restaurant 600 Open Sprints.

A wider racing surface and steeper banking has allowed drivers to go three-wide to make a pass during a feature.  This has captured the attention of fans and the drivers can show those fans how they can wheel a race car with a passion for winning.

The gates for Saturday’s races will open at 4 p.m. with hot laps at 6 p.m. and racing at 7 p.m. ET.  Saturday night’s racing action is dedicated to the memory of Plymouth Speedway family member John Stone.

A huge fireworks show will round out the month of May at the Playground of Power along with a visit from NASCAR driver Ken Schrader.  Schrader will compete in the Swan Lake Resort UMP Modified event on Saturday, May 28.  The evening of action will also include the Shepherd Firearms Pro Sprints, WTCA Super Streets, Walmart Thunder Stocks and Dickies Restaurant 600 Open Sprints.

June will start off with another historic event.  The ASCS Lucas Oil Winged Sprints will compete for the first time at Plymouth Speedway on June 1.  For more information and to purchase a ticket, go to www.plymouthspeedway.net.
