IMG_1444 (640x493)Six boys basketball teams from Plymouth competed last weekend in the Club 1 Tournament which was held at various sites across Northern Indiana.  Plymouth was represented with a 3rd Grade team, two 4th Grade teams, a 5th Grade team, and two 6th Grade teams.
The Plymouth 5th grade team was able to capture the championship with wins over Lakeshore, John Glenn, and Triton.  The 5th Grade team will now go on to compete at the Club 1 Championships which combines all of the various leagues together across Northern Indiana.
The 3rd Grade team ended up losing in the final to Mishawaka in a hard-fought contest after defeating Lakeshore and #1 Seed Warsaw in the earlier rounds to get to championship.  They defeated Warsaw in sudden death to get to the finals. Teams in the other grade levels were not able to advance on tournament day, but all of them competed very well in league play over the last few months against some very good competition and showed great improvement.
A huge thanks goes out to the coaches of these age groups.  Our coaches include Michael Delp (3rd Grade), Ryan Bales (3rd Grade), Cory Walters (4th Grade), Reid Gault (4th Grade), Trent Newcomb (4th Grade), Brian Wray (5th Grade), Alan Hall (5th Grade), Jason Christy (6th Grade), Jason Feece (6th Grade), Tenille Feece (6th Grade), and Brian Chupp (6th Grade).  They have committed the last few months to organizing practices for their respective teams and coaching them in this league.
These teams along with Plymouth 7th and 8th graders will now begin a league at The Zone Sports Complex in Plymouth, IN beginning February 17th.  The 7th and 8th graders will also be competing in the Club 1 League out of Northern Indiana over the next few months.  Come out and support the Future Pilgrims in these leagues!
