Plymouth Community School Corporation is still selling engraved bricks that will be incorporated into the front entrance of the Rockpile, which is currently, undergoing major renovations.

Superintendent Dan Tyree is spearheading the commemorative brick project, along with the athletic department. Tyree said, “As of to date, close to 100 bricks have been sold, the whole entrance area of the Rockpile will be able to accommodate both sizes of our commemorative bricks.”

$100 bricks have three lines, 15 characters or spaces per line for a total of 45 characters or spaces. $200 bricks have five lines, 15 characters or spaces per line for a total of 75 characters or spaces.

This is really a great way to honor every special occasion, including birthdays and anniversaries for those special Plymouth High School alumni or fans in your life.

Tyree said, “Thus far it has been a pretty good split on those who have sent their order forms in via mail and those who have chosen to stop by the administration office and fill out the order form in person.”  A lot of order forms have come in from past alumni who competed in band, track and field and football, former teachers, and graduates have ordered bricks as well,” Tyree continued.

Bricks can also be purchased to memorialize someone who you’ll keep in your heart forever. Families and businesses that support PHS can purchase a brick as a group to show their support for a specific sport, club or program, enabling you and your group to making a lasting, personal contribution to this long-lasting project.

Tyree said the engraved bricks will be incorporated into the front entrance of the newly renovated Plymouth High School Rockpile entryway. The Athletic Department and Plymouth Community School Corporation hope all generations will enjoy reading the bricks, looking for familiar names and uplifting messages.

The proceeds raised from the brick sales will go directly to putting in new turf at the Rockpile in a few years.

Rose Brick and Materials out of South Bend is the supplier and The Belden Brick Company out of Canton, Ohio is the manufacture of the brick pavers. Rose

Brick and Materials will be using a family owned company, Michiana Stone, to do the engraving work. The gentleman who will be doing the engraving uses a state-of-the-art laser engraving method that offers a level of quality and detail not attainable through traditional techniques, such as mechanical engraving or sandblasting.

By purchasing an individualized brick, your commemorative message will welcome thousands of Plymouth fans that enter the Rockpile each season. Over the summer you can order your brick at the athletic office located inside the high school, the high school’s front office, and the superintendent’s office. There is no deadline on brick orders, but keep in mind if you want your brick to be seen this upcoming football season, you’ll want to get your order form in as soon as possible because the first home game this season is August 19th!

The commemorative brick project gives you the opportunity to have your special message engraved on a paver stone that becomes a permanent part of the Rockpile!
