The Lincoln Junior High 8th Grade Boys Basketball team lost to a talented Laporte Kesling team, on Thursday, by a score of 52-31.  The Red Storm trailed at halftime 19-9 and Kesling then extended their lead in the third quarter.  Tolman Mills scored 13 points and Kendall Himes chipped in 8.  The A team is now 11-6 on the season.

The B-team lost a heart-breaker in double overtime on a last second shot that trickled in, as the final buzzer sounded.  In a back and forth contest where seven Red Storm players scored, it came down to the final possession.  Bo Meadors stepped to the line and hit one of two free throws to put Lincoln ahead 45-44. Kesling called a timeout with 7.7 seconds left. Lincoln set up their defense and took Kesling out of the play they wanted to run. It took a desperation shot from the right wing in the final seconds that hit the rim and bounced up off the backboard and fall back through the basket for a final score of Lincoln 45, Kesling 46.  Dylan Gamble scored 14 points and Bo Meadors scored 10. The B-team will host Milfordon Monday night at Lincoln Junior High.

The 7th grade Lincoln Red Storm A Team played a competitive game with LaPorte’s Kesling Komets and came away with an impressive 34-27 road victory on Thursday night.  The undersized Red Storm’s opportunistic defense forced many turnovers on their way to their 15th win of the season.  Lincoln was led by Jake Reichard with 16 points.  Ivan Winkle added 7 points, Daniel Bacon scored 6 points, and Collin Mills added 5 points.  The A Team heads into next week with a record of 15-2.

The 7th grade Lincoln Red Storm B team suffered their 3rd loss of the season on the road against LaPorte’s Kesler Komets by a score of 23-14.  Lincoln rallied to close the game, but a rough first half put the Red Storm in a hole they couldn’t dig themselves out of.  Lincoln was led by Matthew Janus and Hayden Hopple with 4 points each.  The B team’s season record is now 4-3.
