Fulton County Sheriff Chris Sailors released details on the death of a female.
On Saturday night just before midnight, police were sent to an area near 846 West 9th Street for an apparent deceased female that had been located.
Fulton County Deputies located the body of a female in a wooded area adjacent to west 9th Street. The female was deceased and a firearm was located near the victim. The female was identified as 43 year old Katina Powell of Rochester. From the initial investigation it appears that she died from a single gunshot wound.
An investigation has been initiated by the Fulton County Sheriff’s Department and the Fulton County Coroner’s Office. An autopsy was completed in Rochester on Sunday May 8th. The results of the autopsy are pending at this time. The death investigation is ongoing and further details will be released when they become available.
