Fire_StateRoad23StateRoad10The Stephanie and Dan Schallers family experienced a devastating house fire on State Road 23 near State Road 10 this past Saturday and the family of 6 lost everything.

The two older boys attend Argos High School in the afternoons and are involved in FFA.  The family is feeling so blessed by the outpouring of love and support from the community. They are thankful that they are all OK and have a place to stay.

4-H, the Argos school, their church, and others in the community are all working together to assist the family but right now the biggest need is money or gift cards.  They have the furniture, bedding, towels, everything for the household, thanks to immediate family and friends. But things will come up that they will need. They need to buy dress clothes and shoes, boots for the boys and that is best done by them so they can pick out the right styles and fit.  Gift cards from stores like JC Penney, TSC, Smith Farm Store, Big R, along with Amazon would be helpful.

There are a few things the Schallers are in need of:

Backpacks, School supplies, Books about sports-especially football, WWII, military, farming, Case IH and horses
Farm toys and tractors – 1/64 scale type; Games  and Cards,

Other items that will be needed are 4-H and Fair Supplies such as
Goat/cow clippers, show supplies, a pop-up tent and cooler.

They do need 2 laundry hampers, baking dishes, casserole dishes, cake pans, cookie sheets, loaf pans, muffin tins, rolling pin, and 4 twin-sized blankets/comforters for the boys’ beds. Still, the best thing you can contribute would be money or gift cards so that they can personally pick out the things they want moving forward, and as they know what they need they can simply go and get it.

The Schallers lost an entire freezer full of homegrown meat. They have a freezer they can put some in but could use assistance in filling the freezer.
They currently have more clothes than they can take. If this changes once everything has been sorted through, we will update, but currently they do not need any more clothing.
