Rochester – On June 15, at approximately 12:12 am, emergency personal were dispatched to the area of US 31 northbound lane and Fulton County Road 350 South for a semi-tractor trailer rollover.

Preliminary investigation shows the semi-tractor and trailer driven by Juan Cornejo, age 46 of Lafayette, IN, was traveling northbound on US 31 and left the right side of the roadway for unknown reasons. As the tractor and trailer attempted to reenter the roadway both overturned, in turned causing the cargo to be released. The cargo which was bundles of cut lumber covered the roadway in both northbound lanes of traffic.

Four other vehicles were damaged due to striking debris in the roadway and no one was seriously injured in the crash. All persons were checked by EMS personal at the scene and released.

As of 7:45 am this morning left lane of northbound US 31 is open. The right is still closed for a period of time as crews are still on scene removing debris from the roadway and cleanup of a fuel spill.

Assisting the Fulton County Sheriff’s Department in the investigation are Fulton County 911 Dispatch, Indiana State Police, Rochester City Police, Rochester Fire Department, Lutheran EMS and Indiana Department of Transportation. The accident still remains under investigation.
