Police_newsThe Marshall County Sheriff’s Department used their unmanned Aerial Vehicle System and an air plane on Saturday to assist in the search for a couple of missing juveniles on the Tippecanoe River.

 

About 6:30 in the evening the Sheriff’s Department obtained information of two missing juveniles lost and or missing on the river, between State Road 19 and the public access, located in Tippecanoe. The juveniles and the parents became separated and the worried parents made contact with the authorities for assistance.

 

Multiple agencies were involved in the search and investigation including Indiana Conservation, Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department, Marshall County Sheriff’s Department, and Tippecanoe Fire Department.

 

The two juveniles were found safe and was reunited with the parents.

Unmanned Aerial Vehicle System (UAVS), are becoming increasingly popular for recreational enthusiasts and are becoming essential part of investigations and uses for Law Enforcement. The Marshall County Prosecutor, Nelson Chipman, purchased an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle for the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department and on Saturday is assisted in searching a large area along the river, with reduced manpower.
