This week the Marshall County Commissioners approved on first reading of an ordinance amendment reducing the speed on one of the county’s highly traveled roadways.
At the request of a concerned citizen the commissioners reduced the speed on Plymouth LaPorte Trail to 45 mph after reviewing the road count. The most recent report showed traffic traveling at nearly 60 mph and with the curves in the road the commissioners decided to reduce the speed from Queen Road to 4B Road.
The ordinance was ordinance amendment was approved on first reading and is expected to be approved on second and third readings next month.
