On Wednesday March 23rd at approximately 6 p.m. Starke County Sheriff’s Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the parking lot of the Stay for Less Motel on a known suspended driver.
During the traffic stop, a Deputy observed a male passenger in the vehicle attempt to conceal a hypodermic syringe. During the traffic stop Starke County K9 Zardoz indicated the presence of Narcotics in the vehicle.
During a pat down search of the driver and passenger a hypodermic syringe was located. A search of the vehicle revealed Herion in a cigarette package, along with individual small baggies.
The driver of the vehicle Kurtis Singleton, 24, of Knox was arrested for Possession of Narcotics (Heroin), Dealing Narcotics (Heroin) Driving While Suspended with a Prior and Possession of Marijuana. He is booked into the Starke County Jail with no bond.
The passenger, Thomas Singleton, 29, of Knox was arrested for Possession of Narcotics (Heroin), Dealing Narcotics (Heroin) and Unlawful Possession of a Hypodermic Syringe. He was also held with no bond.
