After a 4 month long drug investigation, the Starke County Sheriff’s Department along with Knox City Police , Hamlet Police and Indiana State Police executed a search warrant on Thursday’s date at approximately 9 a.m. in the 7000 North Block of Frost Street at Koontz Lake.

During the search officer’s located Methamphetamine, Paraphernalia, Methamphetamine Precursors and a Homemade Explosive Devise.

Officers from the Porter County Sheriff’s Office Bomb Squad were dispatched to the scene to dismantle the Homemade Explosive Device. The Indiana State Police Clandestine team came to the scene and dismantled items associated with manufacturing Methamphetamines.

Corey Scott 21 years of age of Koontz Lake was arrested and initially charged with:
1.) Possession of Methamphetamine
2.) Possession of Marijuana
3.) Maintaining a Common Nuisance
