UW_Taste of Marshall CountyThe first annual Taste of Marshall County welcomed some 500 people to kick off the United Way of Marshall County 2016 campaign this past Saturday, August 13, at Centennial Park. Young Amphitheatre in Plymouth was full of families enjoying food offered by some of the finest restaurants in the county and dancing to live music in the inviting outdoor space.The proceeds from the Taste of Marshall County will go toward UWMC member agencies and sponsored programs that serve families across the community.

UW_Taste of Marshall County 2016_dancing“We want to celebrate all that our community has to offer for food, drinks and entertainment – and at the same time lift up United Way as a leader for positive change in Marshall County,” said Linda Yoder, Executive Director of the United Way of Marshall County. “We are thrilled to have welcomed so many of our dear friends and met new ones this weekend.”

The Taste of Marshall County featured food tastings from across Marshall County, with a separate space for a beer and wine garden. Southern Straightawaywas the headliner for the evening’s entertainment, with Shots Fired Reloaded giving a rousing welcome to the first Taste crowds.

UW_Taste of Marshall County 2016_eatingSpeaking to the gathering from the amphitheater stage, Rodney Jacobs, Campaign Chair of the UWMC 2016 campaign, said, “We are here tonight to raise money for the 22 agencies that make up the United Way of Marshall County and celebrate the work they do. So eat. Drink. Enjoy the music. And most of all, have fun!!”
