JackieWalorski_ObamaCareWASHINGTON, D.C. – Representative Jackie Walorski (IN-02) issued the following statement after supporting H.R. 3762, the Restoring Americans’ Healthcare Freedom Reconciliation Act of 2015:

“Obamacare is an unpopular, failed law. Polls have shown it, elections have demonstrated it, and rising premiums have proven it,” Walorski said. “Wednesday’s vote sends, for the first time, a repeal of key pieces of Obamacare to the president’s desk and defunds Planned Parenthood. The bill that passed today saw the House and Senate come together to guide it through the normal legislative process, unlike Obamacare. I will continue to fight for solutions that lower healthcare costs for Hoosiers and get bureaucracy out of the way of job creators.”

This legislation repeals a number of provisions in the Affordable Care Act and redirects federal funds for Planned Parenthood to community health centers for one year.

The bill passed the House by a vote of 240-181 and now heads to the president’s desk.
