“Dream in Color” is a 5K color run hosted by the third grade students at the Washington Discovery Academy in Plymouth.
The run is a project focused around agency and perseverance with the students taking ownership of their learning and to never give up when faced with a difficult task.
Not only have WDA students hosted the event but created this project as a fundraiser for Freedom Park, the all-inclusive playground at Packard Woods Park.
Every 3rd grader at Washington Discovery Academy will be participating in the race! The students have been running at the school to prepare for the big day. The kids have worked hard and they want to challenge the entire Plymouth Community to join them on Saturday, May 14th to celebrate overcoming challenges by running in a race and completing it together. The race begins at 9 at the Freyman Shelter in Centennial Park, by the tennis courts.
Cost for the “Dream in Color 5K” is $10 for adults and $5 for children. Since this is a color run, it is suggested to wear something light colored because you will have to opportunity to run through several color dusting areas during the 5K.
