Winter_Storm_WatchThe National Weather Service in Northern Indiana has issued a Winter Storm Watch, which is in effect from Saturday evening through Sunday evening.  A Winter Storm Watch means there is a potential for significant snow, sleet or ice accumulations that may impact travel.

Snow is expected across the area Saturday night as a strong low pressure system moves northeast through the Ohio Valley.  The snow will transition to Lake Effect snow on Sunday as the low departs and arctic air moved in behind it.

Total snowfall across the area during this time frame is expected to be 3 to 7 inches.

Northwest winds will increase late Saturday night and remain strong Sunday causing areas of blowing and drifting snow.

Impacts from this storm will be snow and ice covered roads and reduced visibility due to blowing snow.  Power outages are possible due to the combination of heavy snow and strong winds.
