On Friday November 3rd, at approximately 10:30 ini the evening, off-duty Deputy Ryan Hollopeter of the Marshall County Sheriff`s Department stopped a vehicle for reckless and or impaired driving at US 31 and 9A Road.
Through an investigation it was determined that 19 year old Bruno J. Cataldo of Mishawaka and
19 year old Ethan E. Gay of South Bend had both been consuming alcohol.
Both Cataldo and Gay were arrested and booked into the Marshall County Jail for Illegal Consumption of Alcohol (C-Misdemeanor). Their bonds were set at $250 cash each.
Listeners and readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
