probationn-violationPlymouth Police responded to the Marshall County Probation Department on two occasions Monday morning for motions to revoke probation.

About 9:30 Officer Bob DeLee arrested 28 year old Aimee Jackson of South Bend for violating the terms of her probation.  She was held on a $500 cash bond.

A short time later, Officer Ray West picked up 24 year old Emily Dutcher of Lake Station for a failed drug screen.  A motion to revoke her probation was filed and she was transferred to the County Jail.  While being processed in a syringe was located stuffed in Dutcher’s boot so she received an additional charge of Possession of Paraphernalia.

She too was held on a $500 cash bond.

Listeners and readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
