County news # 2Jason Peters, Supervisor of the Marshall County Highway Department wants to spend $1,759,125 on road projects this year.

Monday morning Peters presented the County Commissioners with the 2017 Road Plan.  The plan calls for 42.5 miles of paving, 7.25 miles of double chip seal, 13 miles of chip seal and more than 10 miles of crack sealing.

Peters also included projects for a second round of Community Crossing Grants.  He projected 22.25 miles with wedge and paving at a cost of $1,998,000.

The commissioners did not take any action on the 2017 Road Plan.  They wanted some time to review the proposed projects and have the opportunity to drive the roads on the plan.
