May 31, 2017

Heartland_LITHOLOGY 101 copy (1)Timothy Tyree is Heartland Artists Gallery’s featured artist in June, with his body of work being shown June 4 through July 1. Timothy is a frequent regional and local award winning artist including multiple “Best Of Show” honors. Among other accolades, his work has been quoted as “exemplary, unique, and accomplished.” There will be an Open House to meet Timothy on Sunday, June 4 from 1-4 with a Gallery Talk at 3.

Timothy is a lifelong artist living and working out of Short Door Studios in Maumee, Ohio.  He received a Bachelor’s of Arts degree from Bowling Green State University, Bowling Green Ohio. While at Bowling Green he studied under the tutelage of professors, Thomas Hilty, Robert Mazur, and Ronald Bandy. Further, he received a Master’s degree from Canbourne University, London England.

Timothy shares his passion “In a world where we find ourselves more and more technologically isolated. It has never been more important to connect with “real” objects and the sense inducing emotion as articulated by art in the post modern era. Unlike the global tethers of our instantaneous information age society, our connection with post modern art immerses us in an intimate, reciprocative experience.”

Timothy works in a vast array of styles and media. As such, his body of work has been described as “thought provoking in both themes and content, and encourages fascinating conversations.” His work is spur of the moment, inspirationally driven, acting on instinct and always striving to push his aesthetics to previously unexplored territories.

A testimonial by Michael W. Leigh. “Works completed by Timothy brings a new style and insight to today’s art world. His most recent works in abstracted post modernism provide a refreshing change to the art work that galleries are currently displaying. I feel that an undiscovered talent exists in Toledo, Ohio that will provide a new style with commissions for years to come”.

His work can be found in public and private collections throughout the United States and the United Kingdom.
