Nappanee Man Injured in Friday Morning Motorcycle Crash

August 11, 2017

motorcycle-crashOfficer Travis O’Neal with the Marshall County Police Department investigated a single vehicle crash Friday morning about 1:50 on US 6 at Union Road.

The police report states that 38 year old Daniel J. Meyer of Nappanee was east bound on US 6 on a 2003 Harley Davidson motorcycle when he lost control on a curve.   The bike crossed the westbound lanes and left the roadway on the north side.

Meyer was airlifted by Lutheran Air to Memorial Hospital in South Bend with head trauma.

This accident is still under investigation by the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department and it is believed that alcohol may have been a factor in the crash.

Marshall County Police were assisted by Walkerton Police, Walkerton EMS and the Polk Township Fire Department.
