Spring signingsThree Culver Girls Academy student-athletes announced their college choices on the first day of the NCAA spring signing period. That brings the total number of seniors who have officially made college commitments to 21.

Announcing their decisions Wednesday after noon were Culver Girls Academy seniors Mary Wright (McAllen, Texas), Kayla Trefren (Culver), and Molly Singewald (Farmington, Minn.)

Wright will be rowing for Villanova. Trefren will be playing beach volleyball for Florida Southern, and Singewald will be playing hockey for Robert Morris University in Pittsburgh.

Wright is the third rower to commit this year along with Justin Matei (Chicago), who is going to Yale, and Susan Westman (Orland Park, Ill.), who is attending Lehigh. Singewald is the second CGA hockey player. Allison Stathakis (Northville, Mich.) will also be in Pittsburgh, attending Chatham University. Trefren becomes the first volleyball player. Florida Southern, a NCAA Division II school, added beach volleyball this year after the NCAAA sanctioned it as a sport in 2015.
