MYRTLE BEACH, SC – A very promising beginning had a disappointing end for Ancilla’s Chargers as they fell to Manhattanville College in their opener Sunday night at the Ripken Experience in South Carolina by a final of 12-6.
The Chargers fell behind 2-0 in the second but recovered to take a 3-2 lead in their half of the third. A four run sixth for Manhattanville blew open a 5-5 tie and gave them the win.
Connor Adams got the start and went two inninsg striking out three. Brandon Dagley, Will Rose and Everett Krueger all pitched in relief.
John Fuson was two for three and Justin Segers was two for four at the plate. Juan Silfa had a pair of RBI’s with a double.
Ancilla takes on Henry Ford and Penn State Mont Alto on Monday.
