The request for the street closings was made to the Board of Works and Safety during their meeting on Monday, September 25 by the Chamber of Commerce.

Also approved by the Board was the conditional hire of two officers for the Plymouth Police Department. Both candidates will now have to undergo both physical and psychological evaluations and be accepted by the State of Indiana Pension Board.

Board member Jeff Houin said he was impressed with the qualifications of all four applicants for the positions.

After the meeting, Bacon said both Finn and Kindig are new to law enforcement.

Bacon indicated that the new officers could be in place by the end of the year.
