Driving Without a licenseLast Wednesday, March 22nd Plymouth Police Officer Ben McIntyre stopped a vehicle at Washington and Berrenbrook for a traffic violation.  The drive, 26 year old Mikal Lopez of West Jefferson Street in Plymouth was found to be operating without ever receiving a driver’s license.

Mr. Lopez was booked into the Marshall County Jail on a $500 cash bond for Operating Without a License.  He posted bond Thursday afternoon about 1 and was released with a May 2nd court date in Marshall Superior Court II.

Thursday afternoon just before 2 Officer John Weir stopped a black Honda at 5th and Adams Streets for a false license plate.  During the investigation is was learned that the driver, 33 year old Randall   Hanson of Rose Street in Plymouth had never acquired a driver’s license.  He was jailed for the charge and held on a $500 cash bond for a couple of hours and then was released on bond.

Plymouth Officer Krynock stopped a vehicle in the 2000 block of North Michigan Street on Thursday night about 9:50.  The driver, 23 year old Jasmine Ivory of Mishawaka was driving without ever receiving a license.  The passenger in her vehicle, 20 year old Shakira Isaac of South Bend was found to be in possession of marijuana.  Both were transported to the county jail and held on cash bonds of $500.

 

Listeners and readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
