The Lancers rallied from a 13-point deficit before Class 3A, No.2-ranked Culver Academy held on for the win.
Luke Beehler led the Lancers with 13 points, while Adam Steinke added 11 points, and Isaac Ross eight.
LaVille narrowed the gap to 34-30 when Steinke found Isaac Ross for a basket. The Eagles then went on a 12-3 run to increase the lead to 13 points twice before the Lancers made one last push.
Jacob Good had an offensive put back to make it 48-40 before exchanging baskets as the final horn sounded.
Ross cleared the glass for nine boards and Steinke had three assists.
