Crash_US30_Oak_9-14-17_intersection_263 year old Richard Kunkle of Plymouth was killed in a three car accident at US 30 and Oak Drive Thursday morning.

Investigating the crash was Plymouth Police Officer John Weir.  His report indicates that 54 year old Samuel Bondranko of Yale, VA was traveling east in a red pick-up truck approaching the intersection with Oak Drive when his attention was diverted to a semi making a right turn off of Oak Drive eastbond on to US 30.

Crash_US30_Oak_9-14-17_motorcycleBondranko told the officer he did not see the traffic control signal which was red and proceeded into the intersection striking the southbound motorcycle driven by Kunkle.   Bondranko also struck the semi that was turning on to US 30.

Officer Weir’s report states that multiple witnesses confirmed the Richard Kunkle had the right-of-way and that Bondranko disregarded the traffic control signal.
